A look at where former Ohio Elite players are starting the 2018 professional season.

Across the country, minor league baseball seasons are underway. The 2018 season has six former Ohio Elite players playing for affiliated organizations. Here's a look at where those half-dozen standouts are starting, as they look to climb the ladder.

Jacob Bosiokovic (Five years with Ohio Elite, 2008-12)- A 19th-round pick in the 2016 draft by the Colorado Rockies, Bosiokovic is starting his second season with the Asheville Tourist of the South Atlantic League in Class A.

Ronnie Dawson (2012-13)- A teammate of Bosiokovic at Ohio State, Dawson was selected in the second round of the 2016 draft by the Houston Astros. Dawson will start his second full professional with the Buies Creek Astros, of the Carolina League, at the Class A Advanced level.

Nick Sergakis (2008-11)- Sergakis makes it a trio of former Buckeyes with Ohio Elite ties playing professionally.  The New York Mets selected the infielder in the 23rd round of the 2016 draft, and now two years later sees him starting the season in AA for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in the Eastern League.

Will Smith (2012-13)- A first-round pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2016 draft, the product of Louisville joins Sergakis in starting his 2018 campaign in AA. Smith will call pitches for the Tulsa Drillers of the Texas League, two levels shy of the bigs.

Zach Sterry (2009-13)- An eighth-round picks by the Boston Red Sox in last June's draft out of Oakland University, Sterry will start his first full professional season with the Lowell Spinners when the 2018 summer begins for the New York-Penn League, at the Class A Short Season level.

Evan White (2013-14)- The first-round pick of the Seattle Mariners last year, White is kicking off the 2018 season as a member of the Modesto Nuts. Tabbed with the 17th overall pick in last June's draft, the former Kentucky Wildcat is at the Class A Advanced Level in the California League.
