Two former Ohio Elite players powered big weekends

Pitcher of the Week: Chris Slavik, Ashland

From Columbus' Bishop Watterson, right-handed pitcher Chris Slavik is wrapping up a strong junior season for the Eagles. Helping Ashland to three weekend wins over Tiffin, Slavik pitched 3.1 innings over two outings, earning his second save of the season and third win, surrendering just one hit and two walks, striking out three batters without allowing a run. Through 46 innings, Slavik has a 3.91 ERA and 50 strikeouts.

Player of the Week: Noah West, Ohio State

Helping the Buckeyes claim their first weekend series in Champaign since 2009, sophomore shortstop Noah West came up big in Ohio State's series at Illinois. In 10 at-bats, West picked up five hits, scored two runs and drove in five RBI. Grabbing his fifth double of the season, the product Westerville Central has anchored the bottom of Ohio State's lineup as the Buckeyes fight for a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
