An Ohio Elite product sets new home run record

Pitcher of the Week: Ronnie Engelman, Roane State CC

On April 28, Roane State wrapped up their 2018 regular season with a doubleheader against Volunteer State. Starting the season finale on the mound was former Ohio Elite right-handed pitcher Ronnie Engelman. As his sophomore year comes to an end, Engelman showed the stuff that earned him a Division I offer and led to a recent Eastern Kentucky commitment. In five innings, Engelman struck out seven batters against one walk, scattered eight hits and allowed three runs. In 73.1 innings of work this year, Engelman has a 4.17 ERA and 75 strikeouts.

Player of the Week: Gabe Snyder, Wright State

From Millersburg, Ohio, former Ohio Elite slugger Gabe Snyder has re-wrote the record book at Wright State. Leading the Raiders to an 8-3 victory over Youngstown State on April 29, Snyder connected on a third-inning home run, the 43rd home run in Snyder's four-year career, resetting Wright State's all-time home run mark. The 14th home run of the first baseman's senior campaign was a part of a three-RBI day, running his career tally to 199, also a new school record. For the season, Snyder is batting .353 with 59 home runs.
