Player of the Week: Casey Gould, Findlay
Gould helped the Oilers to a 6-2 record over spring break, capping the break with four wins in North Carolina. From Marysville, Gould picked up 14 hits in 33 at-bats, a .424 average, with five doubles. Scoring 11 runs and driving in five, Gould gave Findlay great production from his leadoff spot, setting the table for the Oilers in his second season for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference program.
Pitchers of the Week: Perry Bewley and Josh Stover, Ashland
Bewley and Stover each turned in strong starts for Ashland, as the Eagles swept a doubleheader against West Virginia Wesleyan down in Florida, on March 8. In the first game of the twinbill, Stover, a right-handed pitcher from Westerville North, allowed three runs off five hits in seven innings, striking out three batters without issuing a walk. In the nightcap, Bewley, a freshman right-hander from Chardon, scattered seven hits in six innings, allowed two runs, and struck out seven batters against one walk. Each pitcher earned a win in their first collegiate decision, helping Ashland to a 8-3 record.
