The Ohio Elite is based upon a shared philosophy amongst players, coaches, and parents. The 13U Ohio Elite will consist of players from all over the state of Ohio with the purpose of competing on a national stage, while developing skills for high school and college play. More importantly we will guide the boys in their maturity and life long learning through the game of baseball.
Coach Manns paying the Ultimate price after winning a world series.
In their final tournament of the season, the 12u Ohio Elite had to fight for survival when they got knocked down by a fantastic Western Michigan Bronco squad in the second round of double elimination play in the Nations Great Lakes Ultimate World Series in Findlay, Ohio. Resigned to the losers bracket the experienced group of Elite players methodically took down one foe after another. First was the Kentucky Kids who fell to a determined squad of Elite players 17-1 which included a 9 run first inning off the Kids 6' 3" ace pitcher. Next up were the Ohio Watchdogs. One of the better teams in Northern Ohio, the Watchdogs succumbed to the Elite's 13-7. After finally making it back to the championship the Elite found that the Western Michigan Broncos were waiting, well rested, The Elite started Kenton Mickley (World Series Tournament MVP) who disoriented the Broncos offense. After 3 innings the game was over as the Elite avenged their earlier loss to the Broncos with a 19-4 convincing win. Now with the championship resting on the final game, the Broncos started Blakley who threw the shutout the day before in an effort to stop the hot bats of the 12u Elite. The Elite solved Blakley in short order and ended the game in 3 innings again, 16-1 for a World Series Championship. Trent McIntyre threw 3 innings giving up only 1 run in a great outing for the championship win. The 12u Elite finishes the season with a record of 63-8,...8 tournament championships, a premier state championship, a Cal Ripken Experience Championship and a world series championship.
