10U (Kaczmar) win Northeast Ohio Knockout

Ohio Elite brought home their first championship this weekend at the "Northeast Ohio Knockout!"

The excitement started Friday night with Caleb Shorter and Billy Levak on the mound. The two boys managed to pitch two innings each allowing only one hit against the Ohio Legends. At the plate our offense proved to be ready for the week-end competition. Jimmy Salamone, Henry Kaczmar, and Mark WIlbur all added a pair of hits and 1 RBI each, to Erik Stern's 2 RBI's.

Ohio Elite won the opening game against Ohio Legends 10-0.

Saturday morning the boys head back to North Ridgeville, Ohio for game #2. Mark Wilbur and Erik Stern pitched two innings a piece. Ohio Elite gave up 1 run beating Bat Cage Bulldogs 11-1. At the plate Erik Stern, Mark Wilbur, and Jake Johnson each added two RBI's. 

Sunday morning was round two with the Bat Cage Bulldogs. Meeting on the field a day later proved to have the same success for Ohio Elite. Jake Johnson pitched a solid three innings, with Peyton Wilson closing facing 3 batters with 3 strike outs with Luke Ritzel calling his pitches at the plate. Billy Levak, Peyton Wilson, and Jimmy Salamone contributed 2 RBI's a piece. Leading hitters were Jimmy Salamone, Erik Stern, Peyton Wilson, Billy Levak with 2 hits with Henry Kaczmar and Justin Pulvermacher adding 1 hit to the 12-2 win over the Bat Cage Bulldogs. With this victory Ohio Elite would advance into the semi-finals.

Sunday afternoon Ohio Elite (#3 seed) took the field against the Brunswick Stars (#2 seed). Peyton Wilson pitched the first three innings for Ohio Elite with Justin Pulvermacher, Billy Levak, and Henry Kaczmar all pitching an inning beating Brunswick Stars 14-9. Leading hitters at the plate with two hits were Jimmy Salamone, Mark Wilbur, and Peyton Wilson.

Ohio Elite played Pittsburgh Diamond Dogs (#1 Seed) in the championship game on Sunday evening. Caleb Shorter would start on the mound pitching 4 solid innings. Erik Stern would come in and close out the nail biter allowing no hits with Luke Ritzel catching. The defense was amazing! The game was full of excitement and great baseball. Every pitch and every swing would count. Jimmy Salamone, Peyton Wilson, Caleb Shorter, and Jake Johnson all adding two hits with a combined 5 RBI's, Mark Wilbur adding 1 RBI to the 6-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Diamond Dogs. Ohio Elite would leave the field impressing their fans with a championship!
